Tested Pure™ Always

Vapor barriers that qualify for a warranty must pass a quality test for no volatile organic compounds and no off-gassing. These vapor barriers are tested at an independent lab, K&N Labs, Inc., in Minnesota. 

Tested Pure™ standards are to ensure quality and performance in the vapor barriers used inside the home. These vapor barriers are the primary component in stopping the ground/air contact that allows evaporation and causing part of the moisture problem inside the crawl space.

While manufacturing process do vary from one company to another it is difficult for an installer and/or the homeowner to know the origin of the plastic vapor barrier. In the crawl space industry there are many different sources of plastic used in the crawl space, many are imported. Often installers only look at price when selecting the vapor barrier used in the home of their customer and this can lead to an unhappy customer. Tested Pure™ is an a way for the installer and their customers to know the vapor barrier they are using is free from VOC’s and safe to use inside the home.

As part of the Tested Pure™ standard each roll of vapor barrier must have a serial number that can be tracked back to the test certificate authenticating the roll as safe for use. Each warranty certificate sent to the homeowner is accompanied by the lab test certificate for that specific vapor barrier role.
